The Silky Capture Bag
About The Silky Capture Bag
Capturing animals is often causing lots of stress to both animals and their caretakers. In a collaborative effort our team consisting of Peter Prodromou, Simone Karlowski, her workplace Zoo Dortmund and their friends from the zoo-communities worked very hard to find an additional way for certain capture situations by moving away from the traditional net to a different material.
Our Silky Animal Capturebag is an innovative solution designed for the safe and stress-free capture of small to medium-sized mammals, birds, and reptiles.
With carefully selected lightweight fabric it shows an optimal balance between durability and flexibility, reducing the risk of injury or entanglement. The smooth surface prevents animals from getting caught by their claws or limbs, making it especially beneficial for birds by protecting their delicate feathers. The opaque material helps minimize stress by shielding the animal from external visual stimuli, allowing it to remain calmer during handling but still giving the user enough sight to know where the animal is inside the bag.
A key feature of the design is its open-bottom structure, working for seamless transfer into crates and also giving new training possibilities. A special closing mechanism allows secure containment without requiring direct contact with the bag or twisting, for both: safety and ease of use.
The Silky Animal Capturebag represents modern animal capture where necessary. It is offering a practical, gentle, and effective approach for handling many species.
1-2-1 products and devices should only be used by trained professionals.
