Health check for the Humboldt Penguins at Sealife

Fiona Smith and her team at Sealife in Weymouth, UK recently gave the Humboldt Penguins a health check with the help of our Protective Arm Guards.

Humboldt Penguins can inflict nasty wounds on handlers – furthermore, when chicks are taken from the nest to be inspected by the handler and then returned, the parents may accidentally peck the chick instead of the handler’s hand. A peck from an adult can result in injury and trauma for the chick.

Our Arm Guards are extremely flexible and protective. They help to restrain the Penguins easily whilst the patented super fabric protects the handler from injuries. The Penguins and handlers can enjoy quicker and less stressful interaction and the chicks are much less likely to be hurt during the process too.
